From 16 December to 18 Décembre2010
From St. Petersburg to Mumbai via Beijing, all the way and all the kilometers traveled by land we forget the sensation of flying. Travelling by bus or train makes you forget that you pass the borders, you change regions. Everything seems so easy and so close, we almost forget that we are so far from delicious French vineyards. By cons go from India to Kuala Lumpur in hours, the change is more abrupt ... From ambient brothel in an organization so perfect.
The problem is we do not emerge unscathed from almost 2 months in India and Nepal. We keep a few sequels and some symptoms that could be called acute Hinduism. We walk in the middle of the street, cross n 'anywhere and we mostly want a sacred beef !!! Was the croooos !!!! But when we saw the price ... we quickly ended up at McDonalds !! Far sauce prime rib au poivre was expected so much, at least it was not a Maharaja Mac stuffed peppers !!
Our vision of Malaysia has been only briefly and only to summarize an article on Kuala Lumpur (and its time *****). And to tell the truth to 'KL' (as the cool people), it is not awash in temple visits (excluding contemporary Sikh Temple). For in this city, everything is ultra modern, our French infrastructures may also seem quite miserable side. But while in KL. include all the modern comforts and better than ours, their prices are much more modest. Expats must of have fun ....
If you spend 3 days at the city tour (as we did), plan one day to visit the Petronas Twins Tower. Not to visit the 100-story one by one but just to give you a paid ticket (only 4 hours ... enough tail in the morning). And all this for the right to return in the afternoon at the time indicated on your ticket and queue again to obtain only fifteen minutes on the 54th floor. Still, a visit to Kuala Lumpur is not complete without visiting these two huge "chrome rockets" defined as the highest "twin towers" of the world overlooking the city from their 451mètres (They cheat a bit with 2 huge antennas on top ...).
And even if you do not want to queue or you have vertigo, you are forced to go because everything revolves around these towers and there is everything in these towers: a theater, a mall, a movie theater, restaurants, an art gallery, a city of science for kids ... and incidentally the headquarters of Petronas.
After the Russian ballet, Chinese acrobatics show, singing show Tibetan, Indian puppets in the show, we felt obliged to go see a small representation in the "Petronas Philharmonic Orchestra". And no luck, it was thought to discover traditional Malaysian dance performance, as neither-nor, we had the right to a completely lame musical. The eternal story of the prince who lost his beloved, and to find her, has to fight one thousand and evil creatures. Who will win? !!! Ouhhouhh Too much stress? Pure suspense break you and prevent you from going there, we can tell you that at the end they married and had many children ... Just think about Aladdin and the 40 thieves. That said, the theater is worth a look (and you have to go see for yourself because the photos are prohibited).
From our short stay, we will also loved our little cheap Chinese district where they found sticks of our famous streets in low prices ... We would go back there nothing for it !! Bad if you do not know where to eat Saturday night, will test the Malaysian food: not too strong (the one we tasted) but a mixture of divine spices.
PS: If you find yourself in Kuala Lumpur and want to go out at night, ask before going to a place because you can quickly find yourself in the joys of bar girls unknowingly? The name of the "Beach Club" bar might be due to arouse our suspicions.
